Volunteering at a gaushala is not photo-taking. It is cutting and carrying fodder, filling water, cleaning sheds, holding an animal steady while she is treated, and helping with construction when the shelter needs extending.

Practical notes
- The gaushala is at Patel Nagar Sector 6, near St. Thomas School, District Jhajjar, Haryana — about 65 km from Delhi.
- Always call ahead. There is not always someone free to receive an unannounced visitor.
- Wear clothes and closed shoes you do not mind ruining.
- Mornings are best — that is when feeding and cleaning happen.
- Volunteers under 18 must come with a parent or guardian.
- We do not charge volunteers anything, and we do not pay volunteers anything.
